Madhya Pradesh CM distributes over 250 scooters to women police personnel

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, demonstrated the government's commitment to women's safety by handing over 250 scooters to policewomen to bolster their fight against crimes targeting women in the state.

The event took place in Bhopal, where CM Chouhan flagged off a rally of women police officers on the newly provided two-wheelers. He emphasized that the scooters would enable policewomen to patrol, track criminals, and safeguard the dignity of women in Madhya Pradesh.

CM Chouhan praised Minister of State for Home, Narottam Mishra, and the entire team for their efforts in prioritizing women's safety and empowerment. The BJP government in the state has launched several schemes, including Ladli Lakshmi Yojana, Kanya Vivah Yojana, Ladli Bahna Yojana, and 50% reservation in local body elections, with a focus on empowering women.

Additionally, Madhya Pradesh became the first state to enact a law providing the death penalty for rape convicts and demolishing the houses of criminals involved in crimes against women.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the importance of creating a safe environment for women to report incidents without discomfort. To this end, the government set up 'Urja Women Help Desk' staffed by women police officers to encourage women to confidently share their experiences. Further, the 'Abhimanyu' campaign was initiated to raise awareness among boys about crimes against women and promote gender equality.

Home Minister Narottam Mishra praised CM Chouhan's dedication to women's development and empowerment, highlighting initiatives like Ladli Laxmi Yojana and Ladli Bahna Yojana. He credited CM Chouhan for supporting girls' marriages during his tenure as an MP and commended the increase in female police officers within the unit. Each district now has a women's police station, and every police station has a women's help desk, making it easier for women to seek assistance.

The state's commitment to women's safety and empowerment is evident through these initiatives, indicating a concerted effort to create a secure and supportive environment for women across Madhya Pradesh.
